You Were Right
Jonathan Feinberg: words, music, voice, guitars, bass
Remember when you said the thing about the thing?
Well, it turned out you were right.
I know I disagreed about it at the time
But it turned out you were right.
It started as a disagreement in the car
And it turned into a fight.
And subsequently you did what you often do
Namely turn out to be right.
I wish that, in the moment, I'd had more humility
And I hope that you'll accept this most sincere apology
The strength of one's belief, according to psychology
Has not the slightest correlation with reality
So in the days to come, just as a rule of thumb
I'll just assume you're right
And even if I disagree I'll think of this:
It's likely you are right
And if a circumstance arises with a chance
To show I've seen the light
Whatever my opinion is, or what it's been
Whether I agree, it's all the same to me
And if you're ever wrong, I'll write another song
But until then, you are right.
