Written by John Palumbo, and recorded by Crack the Sky in 1978, this song is a prog rock epic. I’ve loved it since I first heard it at the age of 11, and I’m delighted to share my tribute version with you.

All of the members of in Crack the Sky were (and still are!) absolute monsters on their instruments, tasteful, smart, fun, and rocking. But I want to especially acknowledge Joe Macre.

He is probably the most underrated bassist on the planet. He writes great parts, parts that are always appropriate and supportive of the song structure, yet surprising and energizing. He has an incredible sound. And he meshes so beautifully with the precise and clean execution of drummer Joey D’Amico. As I said to Rick Witkowski, after I covered Hold On a couple of years ago, Macre’s through-lines are harder to play than Witkowski’s solos.
